It has a golden color but remains very light. Naturals in a very red way. Birch did surprisingly well and the oaks were naturals.
Add to project list save to my account. I avoided any stain color called ebony, which could contain hints of dark brown that would skew the results. My number one tip is to wipe it off immediately and don't let it sit for very long.
Ebony is a very cool color, but the stain is translucent, so you can still see the graining on the wood. If you want black without it being 100% black, this is my top pick. Some brands have more than one formulation with the same color, so i chose the most commonly used version from each brand.

It's one i reach for all the time for really great coverage and a beautiful, rich tone. But, one that i have used a few times in different style homes and properties is staining floors jacobean / ebony mix and it always turns out great. It is very warm and inviting without being as dark as the other stains mentioned.
It also appeared to make the wood look softer. It won't look thick or heavy on your furniture the way paint sometimes does. For those that feel this way, ebony may be a better choice.
